Since 2002, World Compassion Network has worked to help victims of disaster and poverty all over the world.

Our Work

Disaster Relief

When disaster or hardship strikes, we come alongside local churches and faith-based organizations to help them care for people in their communities. By providing experience, equipment, and essential relief supplies, World Compassion Network helps local partners respond to immediate needs and bring practical support where it’s needed most.

Take Action

Global Impact

With the generous support of individuals, churches, and organizations, we help meet the physical needs of thousands of people while creating opportunities to share the hope of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. When essential needs are met, families and children have greater freedom to look beyond the challenges of today and focus on building a more hopeful future. Our response efforts have reached communities impacted by hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, famine, earthquakes, tsunamis, and wars across five continents.

Get Involved

Mission Trips

We are passionate about the mission of WCN because God calls us to love and care for those in need. As followers of Christ, we are called to put that love into action. When we allow God’s love to work through us as we serve others, we become an extension of His care, giving others a glimpse of His love through our words and actions.

Our History

World Compassion Network began on January 1, 2001, through the vision of Joe and Lynn Wilkey. After pastoring churches in three states, we became convinced that God wanted us to work in compassion ministry. We took every opportunity to join with ministries that helped the poor and victims of disasters. After five years of volunteering with these ministries, I (Joe) was hired full-time by Feed the Hungry in South Bend, Indiana. During the next ten years, I gained valuable experience and became Director of Development and Disaster Relief.

During that time, God gave me the vision and mission for a new ministry. It was clear that He wanted us to use compassion ministry to open the door for the Gospel. Our mission was to assist local churches in reaching out to the poor and victims of disaster. We finally came to our senses, and in early January 2002, decided to go for it. We had no money, nor did I have a job. We wrote a letter announcing our intentions and sent it to 147 people.

On our first trip to the post office, there were four envelopes waiting for us. In the first was $25, the second $50, and the third $75. I turned to Lynn and said, “Honey, I believe God for $100.” There was a check for $10,000 in the fourth envelope. We have never looked back on our decision and have never doubted God. He has always provided what we needed, and He continues to do so to this day.

Since beginning this journey in 2002,

World Compassion Network has worked to help victims of disaster all over the world, reaching thousands through the support from individuals and churches all over the world. The compassion of our donors has helped us reached victims in states across the US and countries worldwide.
